Eligibility

Students must meet, and continue to meet, the following qualifications in order to travel.

  • No excessive discipline history.
  • No unsatisfactory teacher recommendations.
  • No suspensions (or +3 detentions) in year of travel. This will result in removal from trip w/o refund.
  • A 2.5 GPA at the time of application
  • Procure a doctor’s note stating that student is eligible to travel to Costa Rica and engage in adventure based travel.
  • Complete application packet and turn in no later than the deadline
  • Competition of 3 additional project based assignments due at meetings: Literature Paper, Biology Project, Spanish Project
  • Attend monthly meetings with parent or guardian. Missing more than one meeting will result in removal from trip.
  • Provide medical clearance form stating that traveler is eligible to travel to Costa Rica and engage in adventure based travel
  • Must be willing to engage in adventure based activities such as zip lining, hiking, hanging bridges, kayaking and service work
  • In order to guarantee a similar base fund and pool of scholarship money, students going to Costa Rica are expected to participate in fundraising before the trip, with all monies going toward their trip and to continue to fundraise upon return from Costa Rica during the following school year. The money deposited in this pool upon return from the trip helps pay for the initial costs of the next trip and will constitute the major chunk of scholarship money available to the next group...as all groups before them have done in order to keep the trip going.
  • Must submit documents/make payments according to the agreed upon schedule below

  • Final payment due on time
