Star Student of the Week

Congratulations to our star student this week, Marshall! Marshall was a very hard worker and active participant this past week! He did an amazing job and we're so proud of him! 

Science/Social Studies:

What are we learning about this week?
We will learn about animal parts, parts of a plant, where plants live, and where animals live.  

Homework:
Instead of a test, we will be doing an Animal Project. This is due on Monday, October 28th.

This week we will do: 
Monday-3.2-Add tens on an open number line
Tuesday-3.3-Add tens and ones on an open number line
Wednesday-3.4-Break apart numbers to add
Thursday-3.5-Continue to break apart numbers to add
Friday-Spanish Festival, no math

We will be reading unit 1, week 4: A Walk in the Desert. We will be learning about the subjects of sentences. 

Our spelling quiz will be on Wednesday, October 16th (Pushed back 1 day)!

Things to practice at home: When your child is reading to you, stop them at the end of each page/paragraph and ask them to retell what it was about. Make sure they answer in complete sentences with details.

Homebase Announcements:
  • Thank you for your patience while I  was away in the hospital. I'm excited to be back with my students this week. I missed them so much!
  • PBIS School-wide Reward for October
    At the end of this month, we will be doing a drawing for a pick off the GIFT CARD TREE!!!   
    The gift cards will be around $25.00 in value. The tree will be displayed in the clear bin to get the students excited. We will be drawing white tickets for this reward.
  • This week is National School Lunch Week! Please see the email forwarded to see all of the fun lunch activities happening this week! 
  • If you would like to help celebrate with us at the Spanish Festival, please make sure to fill out the google form to rsvp Sign up for Spanish Festival.
  • Socktober: The Academy Council is hosting a sock drive for the month of October. The homebase that brings in the most new socks will win a classroom party. Students also earn team points for each pair they bring in.
