Encouraging reading is one of the most important things we can do to help your child succeed. It can be tough finding the right books to keep them interested, which is why I am so excited that our class will be participating in Scholastic Reading Club this school year.

Homework:
In order to promote more reading I will not be assigning fluency or high frequency word practice for the remainder of this school year. Instead, Reading Logs have been handed out. Each student is to read for a minimum of 20 minutes at least 4 times each week. Reading Logs are completed with the title and author of the book being read along with the total minutes read each night. Reading Logs are due on Monday.
