What are we learning about this week?
We will do a constellation activity, learn about our solar system, review, and then take our test.

Moon Journal and Review due Thursday.

Wheeles Math:

What are we learning about this week?
We will add using mental math, add using partial sums, models with math, making sense of problems, and an extension day.

What are we learning about this week?:

Our super second graders are excited to be learning reading strategies to become strong, fluent readers.

  • Books:    A Froggy Fable
  • Grammar: Adjectives
  • Spelling: ankle, title, apple, cable, purple, able, bugle, bundle, bubble, giggle, sparkle, tickle (Spelling Quiz Friday).

Things to practice at home: When your child is reading to you, stop them at the end of each page/paragraph and ask them to retell what it was about. Make sure they answer in complete sentences with details.

Homebase Announcements:

  • This week, we will be reviewing safety drills in all of our classrooms. We will be watching an age appropriate video and practicing what we should do. Then the week before break the whole school will practice a drill. Please see the school's weekly email for more information on this.
  • Friday, March 16th, The Primary Academy will have our free Carnival Night. We hope to see you there from 6-7:30pm!
  • The second trimester awards assembly is coming up! Emails were sent out to families of students who are receiving an award.
  • I am still looking for a Fun Friday person for June 1st. If you are interested, please let me know.

Classroom General Information

  • Please make sure that you are checking up on the Parent Portal for your child's grades. If your child is missing work, it will also be located there. There were many students who did not turn in the science review sheet last week. Please send it in as soon as possible.
