Blue Bell, PA -- Cloudy skies could not dampen the fun at the 4th Annual Renaissance Academy Golf Outing which was held on May 29th, 2014.  This year, the golf outing was hosted at the beautiful Blue Bell Country Club, Blue Bell, PA.  After enjoying a barbeque style lunch, over 60 golfers tee’d off at the 1:00 pm shotgun start.

The premium Collegiate Sponsor of the event was Advanced Vein & Vascular Center, Inc., who has been a major sponsor for all four of the Renaissance Academy golf outings.  Advanced Vein & Vascular Center’s Managing Partner and Renaissance Academy Board Member & Founder, Martha Stephens said that she loves getting behind the golf outing each year, not only because it’s a fun, relaxing day, but also because it gives her a chance to inform people about Renaissance Academy and education reform.  “Even if they are not the least bit involved with education issues, the outings provide me the opportunity to educate a whole new audience as to who we are and what charter schools are all about.   I know for a fact we have changed the perception of what a charter school is for a number of my own customers and employees.  It is just a different venue that allows us to promote our wonderful school.”

Other key sponsors of the outing included Senior Sponsors PNC Bank, Stradley Ronon and Thermal Solutions Contracting, Inc.; Elementary Sponsors Crayon Kids, Inc., KCBA Architects, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Novacoast, Rainer & Company, and Reynolds Construction; Lunch/Cocktail Sponsor Tech Difference; and Gift Bag Sponsor Allendale Dental.

A cocktail reception followed the day of golfing, where the outing awards were presented.  With an average score of 62, the winners of the "Lowest Scoring Foursome" were Tony Carabasi, Jim Fries, Steven Jensen, and Jeff Foscoe from the Advanced Vein & Vascular Center foursome.  Other awards included "Longest Putt", Bill Donahue with a put of 39 feet, 9 inches and "Closest to Pin", Ron Confino at 5 feet, 7 inches.  Mr. Confino said, “The course, personnel and food at Blue Bell Country Club were all excellent.  I hope Renaissance Academy will continue their outings at this top notch club.”

All proceeds from the outing will benefit the Renaissance Academy's capital campaign and a gymnasium bleacher system for the new campus which will be located in The Franklin Commons Education Center, Phoenixville, PA.
