Phoenixville, PA --- On Friday, February 13th, Renaissance Academy kindergarten through 4th grade students dressed in their very finest royal garb arrived at their school to find a shimmering, glamorous wonderland.  The third annual Royal Ball, which fully embraced its Hollywood theme, was truly the most extravagant to date.

Upon entering, the students and their royal chaperones encountered a roped off “paparazzi” area where camera wielding onlookers gave them the red-carpet treatment.  Once at the ball, royalty was treated to a variety of snacks, cupcakes from “Iced by Betsy”, and pampering; as well as more photo-ops in the royal photo booth provided by Party Cam.  The little princes and princesses danced the night away and were taught a few new dance steps by DJ, Clyde Evans, Jr.

Madison Rufo, 3rd Grader, said, “My favorite thing about the ball was the dance room.”  She said that she enjoyed learning new dances and spending time with her favorite king, her dad.  “I’m really looking forward to next year’s ball.

The royal ball, which benefited the Renaissance Academy Fitzgerald and Shakespeare Houses (grades K-2) and the Renaissance Academy Development Fund, raised over $4600.  We would like to thank all the volunteers and sponsors who made this event a huge success!

Michel Comstock, 2nd grade teacher and one of the organizers of the event said, “This event was truly a Renaissance community effort. From teachers setting up; parents helping with details and volunteering their time and items; as well as teachers spending their Friday evenings dancing away and having fun with their students. It was amazing, and truly our best Ball yet. We are looking forward, as always to go bigger and better next year!
