PHOENIXVILLE, PA – On Saturday, April 27th, the Phoenixville YMCA held Healthy Kids Day community event which included performances by a small group of the Renaissance Academy Charter School Elementary Choir members. This was a free event promoting healthy lifestyles to the community, during which there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Food For All Garden project.

This new program will involve local volunteers growing vegetables and herbs during three seasons of the year and donating a minimum of 50% of what they grow to people in need in the community. Specifically they are donating the food to PACS, Phoenixville Area Community Services, which is one of the food cupboards through the Chester County Food Bank.

In honor of the garden, the students sang Let it Grow from the movie The Lorax.
