Essex, NJ—During November, The Valley Forge Cadettes Synchronized Skating Teams traveled to Essex, New Jersey to compete in the 2019 Essex Synchro Classic synchronized skating competition. Synchronized skating is a team sport in which 8-20 skaters perform a program together. It uses the same judging system as singles, pairs and dance and is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations and challenging step sequences.

Elise Frasch, 8th grader at Renaissance Academy Charter School, skates for the Pre-Juvenile level and Eric Frasch, 5th grade, skates for the Syncro Skills team. All three Cadettes teams, Synchro Skills, Pre-Juvenile and Intermediate, placed 2nd in the competition.

Elise and Eric reside in Phoenixville, PA with their parents, Steven and Pamela Frasch. Elise has been ice skating since she was 6, skating with the Valley Forge Cadettes for 5 years. Eric has been skating since he was 5 and this is his second year with the Cadettes.

Valley Forge Cadettes represent and practice out of Center Ice of Oaks Figure Skating Club located in Oaks, PA. This was the first competition this season for the Cadettes. Head Coach, Missy Detwiler shared “The coaching staff is so incredibly pleased with our performances.
