RA Senior & PFEW Ambassador, Mark Adams

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – Today, the Renaissance Academy Charter School received notification that senior, Mark Adams would be a 2019 Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) Student Ambassador. The PFEW Student Ambassador Program is a leadership commitment for recent PFEW alumni in which the selected student shares his or her experiences with classmates and becomes an active promoter for this worthwhile program.

Mark began his journey with PFEW as a sophomore when he attended a weeklong intensive at Lycoming Collage, Williamsport, PA. Students were broken into groups to form “company” teams in which they create a product then establish a corporate structure and marketing strategy for their product. Mark was elected CEO of his “company” which produced innovative home gym equipment.

Working with PFEW staff and school administrators, Mark Adams will have multiple opportunities to grow as a young professional by representing PFEW at community events and encouraging other students to gain the benefits available through participation in the entrepreneurial program.

The young ambassador is looking forward to beginning his new role, which he will hold from November to May 2019. “I truly appreciate the experience and life-skills I learned during my involvement with PFEW. I enjoyed meeting new people and getting a chance to work collaboratively with them towards our goals. I am currently working on a plan for promoting PFEW in my school and community.”

About Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW)
PFEW, which has been in operation since 1979, is an intensive program that educates high school students about the American free enterprise system. Each summer, PFEW holds four, one-week individual sessions in July and August. The focus of the week is to group the student participants into “management teams” of senior executives who have inherited imaginary “companies.” These teams then manage and operate their companies by working with balance sheets, statements of income, market share surveys, etc. To add a sense of reality, the teams also compete against two other student “companies” which manufacture and distribute the same product.
