Phoenixville, PA – Renaissance Academy Charter School (RA) is proud to report that ten elementary musicians and singers have been selected to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Elementary Honors Choir and 5th/6th Grade Band Fest 2019 performances. To be appointed to these well-regarded performances, a student is first nominated by their director then selected by the PMEA.

Eileen Keller, RA Elementary Choir Director is pleased to announce that Allison Walsh (5th grade), Danica Yates (6th grade), Nadia Kasiewski (6th grade), and Lucy DeLeon (4th grade) were selected to perform with the PMEA District 12 Elementary Honors Choir on February 14, 2019 at Downingtown East High School, Exton, PA. Mrs. Keller said that she was delighted to nominate the four young singers based on their “dedication to our program, talent, improvement, citizenship within the ensemble, attendance at rehearsals and lessons.” These students will learn the honors choir music during the school day and at home to prepare for this exciting performance with other schools in the area.

The Chester County Intermediate Band Fest will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Oxford Area High School, Oxford, PA. RA musicians for this event will include Ava Salamone (flute), Kayla Zimmerman (clarinet), Kayla Williams (percussion), and on trumpet, Erin Estrella, Delaney McKee and Patrick Krock. Jonathan Springer, RA Band Director said that, when considering which students he nominates, he “looks for students who exhibit leadership skills, musical ability and strong work ethic. I knew these students would be great representatives for RA.”
