Phoenixville, PA – Yesterday on their home field, the Renaissance Academy Lady Knights softball team took on the West Mont Christian Academy Wings in the Tri-County Independent School League playoff semifinals. The Lady Knight played both solid offense and defense to crush the Wings, 14-4.

On offense, Arianna Prince, Casey Mitchell, Maggie Mastrangelo, Jaime Lloyd, and Olivia Ferst all had singles and Julia Duchossois and Chloe Janis each hit triples to bring in runs.

The Lady Knight defense kept the opposing team to only 4 runs, with solid catches at first by Casey Mitchell and fly ball catches in the 5th inning from Chloe Janis, Arianna Prince, and Julia Duchossois to end the game.

Lady Knights Head Coach, Virginia (Ginny) Albany said that she was extremely pleased with this team and the legacy which is being built by the Renaissance Academy softball program. “It has been another very exciting season and I am so proud of the team. This is my 6th year coaching the Lady Knights and during that time, we have won 3 championships. With another win tomorrow, that would be 3 in a row and 4 total.”

This win advances the Lady Knight to the 2018 league championship game which will be played (weather permitting) on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 on the Renaissance Academy home field located on at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Fillmore Street, Phoenixville, PA.
