A message from the Renaissance Academy Food and Nutrition Department 

Dear Families: 

The Renaissance Academy Food and Nutrition Department is asking for your patience and support as we navigate new challenges*. As you may be aware, nationwide shortages and delays have affected availability of certain food items, leading to substitutions of menu items we’ve been able to offer regularly in the past. These supply issues are occurring throughout the country and are especially challenging for school systems, due to the quantity of meals we serve and the nutrition standards we follow. The entire food service industry is currently faced with unprecedented shortages and massive delays or cancellations of deliveries, and in addition to food service department labor shortages.

All of this means that we may need to make quick substitutions to our menu(s) based upon what we are able to acquire. We want to help limit the effects this has on our students, and we are doing our best to provide updates about menu changes when possible as soon as we identify an issue.

Please know that our number one priority continues to be providing healthy, nutritious, and appetizing meals for your children. We love seeing them every day and appreciate your support and patience as we continue to offer meals at no charge for all students. The good news is that free breakfast and lunch will continue throughout the school year, so please support us while we face yet another challenge. Student participation helps our program stay strong, and we look forward to serving them every day.

Free School Meals Program 2021-2022

We are pleased to inform you that Renaissance Academy Charter School will be participating in National School Meal Waiver program for the 2021-2022 school year.

  • All enrolled students of Renaissance Academy Charter School are eligible to receive a nutritional breakfast and lunch each school day at no charge to your household.
  • No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without paying a fee or submitting an application.

Breakfast will be served in the Café @ 7:40 for our students

Lunch times will vary according to your student’s schedule.

Free & Reduced Lunches

Applying for Free and Reduced Meals via SchoolCafe makes the application process easier than ever. Parents can select their students, input household information, and complete their application all within minutes. No need for cumbersome forms or mailing physical applications.

Lunch Account and Fee Payments

Student Lunch Accounts and Fees can be paid via check (payable to Renaissance Academy) or online*.(see below for instructions)

Online Lunch & Fee Payment on Skyward:

Use Skyward Family Access to designate a credit card or bank account for use in paying school fees or funding your student’s lunch account.

Please follow these steps: 

  1. Chose ONE child in the top task bar even if you have multiple children
  2. Click on the tile "Fee Payments"
  3. On the Upper Right corner, click "make a payment".
  4. This will take you to a NEW screen where you will set up a payment account. "Skyward Food And Fees"
    • Here you will see both food service fees as well as general school fees that have been posted to your family’s account.
    • From this page, you will be able to pay for lunch account balances, pre-load lunch accounts and pay for general school fees.
    • You will be able to make payments for one or multiple children from this screen.
    • You will be required to add a Credit Card before checking out.

*Once set up, this same feature can be accessed using the Mobil App
