Board of Trustees
Opening Statement shared by the Renaissance Academy Charter School Board of Trustees President during the April 18, 2024 Voting meeting.
Numerous instances have recently been brought to the attention of the RA Board of Trustees. As stewards of our community's standards, we wish to reiterate our expectations for all stakeholders at Renaissance Academy. This encompasses students, parents, staff, volunteers, and all others who interact with our school community. Our institution upholds a set of Core Values: wisdom, justice, courage, compassion, hope, respect, responsibility, and integrity as are set forth in the Parent/Student Handbook, including the Code of Conduct, and in the Board of Trustees approved Policies which are available on the School's website and at the main office.
Any behavior diverging from these values can and will lead to consequences so as not to cause disruption to the operations of the school community and/or harassment of school community members which may include, but are not inclusive of limiting access for communication to certain administrator(s), not allowing access to school-sponsored events on school campus or at other sites, involvement of local police pursuant to the School's required Memorandum of Understanding if communications become threatening, and ultimately a cease and desist order if such behavior continues and/or escalates despite reasonable steps taken by the School administration to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all of the members of our School community.
In summary, Renaissance Academy Board of Trustees reaffirms its commitment to our Core Values and expects all community members to adhere to them. Any behavior contrary to these values will result in appropriate consequences to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.
Thank you,
Beth Falcone
President, Renaissance Academy Board of Trustees.
