Thank you for considering Renaissance Academy Charter School for your child/ren’s K-12 education!
All Pennsylvania K-12 students are eligible for enrollment in Renaissance Academy on a space-available basis. Preference is given to siblings of current students and residents of the Phoenixville Area School District, by whom Renaissance Academy is authorized. If there are more applicants than space available, students are then selected by lottery.
The overview below summarizes Renaissance Academy's initial new student enrollment process. Admission to Renaissance Academy is based on a lottery system. Once the application and all necessary paperwork are submitted, your student will be placed on the waitlist. Intake results will be announced during the virtual lottery. See dates below.

The enrollment lottery with be held on 01/26/26 at 9 AM.
The lottery will be held virtually, during which future Knights will be selected at random. The link to the virtual meeting is provided below.

After the lottery, if your students application was not selected, appplications will be placed at the end of the grade-level waiting list. Spaces are filled thorughout the school year based on wait-list numbers.
Applicants will remain on the waiting list for the school year applied for. Applications do not roll over to the next school year. Please note that all applicants on the waiting list must reapply for admission each year.
Siblings of current students and residents of the Phoenixville Area School District recieve priority in the lottery system. All other applications are entered into a seperate lottery and placed behind those with priority. Please note that if your student qualifies as a "preference" (a sibling of a current enrolled student or a resident of the Pheonixville Area School District), the application must be submitted and completed by the lottery deadline of the applying year. Failire to do so will result in loss of preference and your child's application will be placed at the back of the waitlist in the order it was recieved and completed. No exceptions can be made.
Enrollment Essentials: What You Need to Get Started
The following documents are required to be submitted with your student's application.
Per the PA Department of Education, proof of age and the student's immunization record is required. This must be submitted with your application. Please see below for acceptable documents.
Any one of the following constitutes acceptable documentation:
- Birth certificate
- Notarized copy of birth certificate
- Baptismal certificate
- Copy of the record of baptism - notarized or duly certified and showing the date of birth
- Notarized statement from the parents or another relative indicating the date of birth
- Valid passport
- Prior school record indicating the date of birth.
Please submit the most recent copy of your student's immunization record. Detailed information can be found on our website under the Health Services section, specifically under Immunization Information.
Per our Board of Trustees policy, please submit your student's academic records, including the final report card for the 2024-2025 school year and for the 2025-2026 school year when available. For students in grades 9-12, we will need official transcripts. If your child is currently in 9th grade, please also include their final 8th-grade report card, along with the 9th-grade transcript when available.
While these documents are required for an application to be considered complete, they shall not be used for selection purposes nor cause any delay in the student's enrollment. The Charter School will proceed with enrollment based on the primary required documents.
If you have moved or are moving, please complete the Change of Address packet (linked below) and return it to the school as soon as possible. Transportation changes cannot be made until all paperwork is submitted and may take 3–5 business days to process. Note that transportation for two separate households in different districts is not guaranteed. Submit completed packets to Kristy Grace at Kristy.Grace@rak12.org.
Per our Board of Trustees policy, please submit any custody paperwork for your student. If you do not have a formal custody order, please use Section 1302 Statement as provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This form must be notarized. *If applicable.
Has Your Family Moved?
If you have moved or are moving, please be sure to fill out a Change of Address packet (links below) and return it to the school as soon as possible. It is illegal for a student to be enrolled in a School District different from the one in which they reside. Transportation cannot be changed until the required paperwork is submitted.
Please note that changes in transportation can take 3 to 5 business days, and the district may not grant transportation in two different districts for two separate households. If you choose to download the packet, please submit your completed packet to Kristy Grace at Kristy.Grace@rak12.org. The entire packet must be completed and submitted with proof of residency. Open House & Tours
At each open house, RA staff is available for questions, tours are provided and led by current students, and a presentation/Q&A session is provided.
We strongly encourage you to attend one of our open houses or schedule a tour of our campus with our enrollment coordinator prior to receiving an offer of enrollment.
Transportation
Busing is provided by the school district in which a student resides. Districts which currently bus to Renaissance Academy Charter School include:
Downingtown, Great Valley, Methacton, Norristown, Owen J. Roberts, Perkiomen Valley, Phoenixville, Pottsgrove, Spring-Ford, Tredyffrin/Easttown, Upper Merion.
